Asad Rauf played as right-handed batsmen for Pakistan in the 1980s. After a largely subdued career as a cricketer, he retired and got into umpiring in 1998. Since then, he has grown in stature as an international umpire. Along with Aleem Dar, he is one of the best umpires that Pakistan has produced.
