Goa gain three points against Vidarbha

Nagpur: Goa by virtue of their first innings lead over Vidarbha gained three points while the hosts secured one as their Ranji Trophy plate group match ended in a tame draw on the final day at the VCA Jamtha Stadium here today.
Goa, overnight 44 for the loss of one wicket, reached 203 for eight before declaring and setting the home team a target of 340 runs off possible 41 overs.
First innings centurion Saurabh Bandekar top-scored with 40 while overnight batsman Rahul Keni made 32. Ajay Ratra scored 25.
Off-spinner Akshaya Wakhre returned with five for 65 off 21.5 overs while left-armer Srikant Wagh claimed two for 29.
Vidarbha in their pursuit finished at 83 for one off 26 overs when both skippers agreed for a draw.
Debutant Jayesh Dongoanker remained unbeaten on 37 in company of skipper Alind Naidu 17.
Goa had made 474 runs in their first innings, while the hosts could muster only 338 in their first essay thereby conceding a lead of 136 runs.
