No racist comments, black clothes, posters at Green Park
Kanpur, Nov 16: Strict measures will be in place to ensure that spectators do not make racist comments during the third one-dayer between India and England at Green Park Stadium here on November 20, a top police official said on Sunday.
After taking stock of the security measures in place, Uttar Pradesh Additional DG (Law and Order) Braj Lal said there would be strict monitoring to ensure that no racist comments are made during the match and spectators who make such comments will be evicted from the stadium.

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) Secretary P D Pathak said in a press conference that like in the earlier matches here spectators who wear black clothes will not be permitted entry into the stadium and they would not be allowed to carry black posters and banners also.

He said the two teams will reach here at 1700 hrs on Tuesday via Lucknow and leave the city at 1600 hrs on Friday. They will have practice sessions on Wednesday.

Lal said besides banning black posters and banners, those who carry banners and posters other than black will also be search thoroughly so that there are no racist writings on them.

Last year, during the one-dayer between India and Pakistan, spectators had protested on the ban of wearing black clothes and police had to resort to lathi-charge on that occasion.

Pathak said the national selectors, including chairman Krishnamachari Srikkanth, will be present during the match and they will announce the India squad for the remaining four one-dayers.
